He is a founding member of the Africa Digital Economy Forum and has served severally, including the ICT4D Committee of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Olusegun Ohimeh Oruame is an international journalist, publisher, and media entrepreneur who has reported on technological developments in Asia, America, Europe, and Africa, among other continents.

He is a 2005 GKP/Panos Fellow (winner of the Panos Institute of London/Global Knowledge Partnership award for 2005 on Reporting the Information Society) and a 2006 Nigeria Media Merit Award (NMMA) recipient for his work as a telecommunications reporter. The NMMA is Nigeria's highest journalistic honor.

Oruame is the founding Editor of IT Edge News.Com and www.itedgenews.com magazines (since 2004); the founding Head of Editorial Think Tank at the African Political and Economic Analysis Magazine, www.baoababafricaonline.com; and a stakeholder in Baobab Think Limited and Qitech Technologies, companies promoting a private sector-led technology hub in central Nigeria and collaborating with partners to provide various suites of solutions across sectors.

A journalist with extensive experience. Segun was an early blogger on www.computerworldwestafrica.com/blog, owned by the US-based International Data Group.

Since 2003, he has been the consulting information technology editor for The Comet Newspaper and now The Nation Newspaper, one of Nigeria’s leading national news daily. He maintains the oldest personal weekly ICT column in the country, Matters eRising.

Oruame has been working with a network of partners (ICT4People & Environment) across West Africa to build a platform to drive development through the use of ICT in underserved communities via private and public initiatives.

He is a founding member of the Africa Digital Economy Forum and has served severally, including the ICT4D Committee of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
